Who we are:

A. Mozart Fest is a vital arts presence in Austin that is now in its seventeenth year of delivering highest-quality concerts.  As critical reviews and letters from audience members attest, A. Mozart Fest’s extraordinary concerts with innovative commentary and musical examples are a treasured tradition for citizens as well as visitors to Austin and the Austin metropolitan area.

Where we've been:

Since 1991, A. Mozart Fest concerts have built the foundation for a lasting cultural institution that continues to grow in importance in Austin, central Texas, nationally and internationally. While Austin is well known through Austin City Limits and music clubs for its country music, jazz and contemporary music, A. Mozart Fest is becoming famous for its highest-quality performances of Mozart and other masters. This is evidenced by a growing number of letters of inquiry and appreciation from not only Texas but from other states as well.

A. Mozart Fest (AMF) promotes Austin as a classical music destination through NPRs nation-wide broadcasts of AMF concerts to over 5 million listeners annually. In addition, Austin Music Network TV (and its successor, ME Television), as well as Public Access Channel 11, has aired A. Mozart Fest performances for the past 7 years along with its typical Austin music programming.

Where we're going:

A. Mozart Fest provides Austin residents & visitors a balanced selection of Austin arts and culture through a variety of inter-connected programs, mainly the AMF Season Concerts and the AMF Armstrong Kidzkonzerts.

In addition to A. Mozart Fest’s reputation for its excellence in performance, A. Mozart Fest is also well known for bringing the world’s leading artists to Austin audiences in up-close and personal settings, where audiences experience interaction with artists that is not possible in other settings. This is true of all AMF public concerts and AMF Armstrong Kidzkonzerts.

The growth of population in Austin related to the technological, scientific and computer companies brings in residents who are interested in the developed systems of art such as classical music, and Mozart in particular because it influenced most of the later music in Western culture. New Austin residents are among A. Mozart Fest patrons as well as AMF audience members. Similarly, visitors to Austin who attend AMF concerts attend repeatedly and have expressed an interest in organized groups from their cities attending future concerts. AMF is exploring the development of such tours that will work with other Austin attractions, hotels and restaurants.

AMF is the only organization in Austin that is presenting (or has ever presented) a comprehensive series of performances of Mozart’s 27 Concertos for Piano and Orchestra, widely considered to be his greatest instrumental works. AMF offers Austin audiences the chance to hear these unparalleled treasures of music.

AMF concerts provide Austin’s resident world-class classical artists a stimulating concert environment, thereby keeping these outstanding artists in Austin because they value the opportunities AMF gives them to do meaningful work.

A. Mozart Fest is a vital arts presence in Austin that is now in its seventeenth year of delivering highest-quality concerts.  As critical reviews and letters from audience members attest, A. Community Concerts:

We achieve our goals through two programs annually, of A. Mozart Fest season concerts and AMF Armstrong Kidzkonzerts. With our yearly seasons, we perpetuate this musical heritage for future generations for people of all ages, backgrounds, and physical abilities to understand and appreciate classical music of Mozart and others.  Our performances communicate the life of the music, and our commentaries are specifically designed to engage and educate all audience members, whether adults at our public concerts or children at our AMF Armstrong Kidzkonzerts.
